The Doctors

Dr. Richard E. Hults & Associates was incorporated in the State of Ohio in 1985. We began practice at the Belden Village location on February 21, 1986. Thus, we have been serving our patients in Ohio for more than 26 years. Our history of success is based on offering our patients comprehensive, compassionate eye care with a focus on value. We would be honored to serve as the eye care providers for you and your family.

Dr. Paynowski is an avid reader who also enjoys live theater. She and her husband of 27 years also enjoy spending time in their garden and with their many pets, all of which are rescues. She even has Vietnamese Pigs!

Dr. Gellis has a special interest in children's vision. He is a devoted father of 3 boys and is very active in the local Jewish community. Dr. Gellis has been married for 9 years to Giela, who is also an optometrist.

Dr. Sipple has been associated with Dr. Hults for 18 years. She is an ardent fan of The Ohio State University sports. Dr. Sipple is a lifelong resident of the Cleveland area and she enjoys golf with her husband.

Dr. Knapp has been married for 16 years. She enjoys playing tennis in her spare time and has been associated with Dr. Hults for 16 years. Her husband is an avid bike rider in support of diabetes research.

Dr. Padovan is a graduate of The New England College of Optometry.

He has also worked extensively in the medical field in Brazil.

He is a volunteer in the "Gift of Sight" mission providing eye exams for the needed. He also has worked on an international mission in Morocco helping thousands of patients.

In addition to English Dr. Padovan also speaks Portuguese, Spanish and Italian.

Adam Schmidt graduated the Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2008. In the following year, he completed a residency in ocular disease where he diagnosed and treated a full scope of ocular pathology. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Ohio Optometric Association.

Dr. Roth is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry. She has been practicing with Dr. Hults and Associates since May 1987. Dr. Roth resides in Tallmadge with her husband and two children. She is active in the Tallmadge City School's PTA, helping with the school vision screenings and acting as an officer for the past 11 years.
