The Importance of Early Eye Disease Diagnosis

For those of us with healthy eyes, it's easy to overlook the importance of taking preemptive steps namely, an eye examination. Nevertheless, timely detection of any eye or vision problems is crucial to maintaining healthy eyes. This can easily be done with an annual eye exam.

A significant number of optical problems have no apparent signs. As a result, individuals are often unaware that problems exist. You can schedule a complete optical exam at our Canton, OH office, with our experienced optometric team. Our Canton vision center uses the latest technology ensuring a complete eye exam.

Glaucoma affects more than three million Americans proving to be the primary cause of vision loss. Glaucoma is often called ''the sneak thief of sight'' because it can strike without any signs. Most adults in America don't use visual aids and don't schedule regular eye exams, therefore leaving their eyes at greater risk.

The danger is that the majority of adults don't realize that blinding diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration are often a-symptomatic and without a comprehensive eye exam are frequently discovered only after it's too late.

Routine eye exams to check for eye and vision problems should be a priority. Be sure to schedule regular eye exams with your local eye doctor in order to keep up healthy eyes for years to come.
